This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network.Key ResponsibilitiesProvides leadership in problem solving, and technical expertise, to ensure timely resolution of short-term process and equipment issues, and higher level troubleshooting.Provides direction to other technicians / engineers, coaches junior engineers, and provides guidance to maintenance personnel.Provides general engineering and manufacturing skills and knowledge (understands theories and fundamentals), and capable of leading projects to get to root cause of issues, and put permanent solutions in place.Provides disciplined project leadership across multiple stages of innovation for new product, process, cost reduction and capacity improvement initiatives.Recommends and implements permanent solutions to long term performance issues, and improves existing and new technologies and processes.Develops and leads some areas of the manufacturing and/or technical roadmap. Documents material, process and/or equipment to protect and contribute to Intellectual Property improvements.Proficient in use of statistical data analysis and DOE in process problem solving and process/product improvement.Identifies, justifies, and implements cost reduction, capacity enhancement, capital equipment and other improvement initiatives.Introduces new products and technologies.Meets all Environmental, Safety and Health requirements.Develops SME knowledge of material, process and/or equipment in focused areas of manufacturing or engineering.Tracks the effectiveness of projects and implemented cost reductions, using up-time, cost, productivity, and other appropriate measures.Is a leader and Subject Matter Expert (SME) in process control/discipline, SPC, SQC, OEE, Designed Experiments, and other Performance Excellence processes (Green and Black-belt skills).Designs and/or specifies new equipment or modifies existing equipment to continuously improve process performance. Coordinates installation, debugging and initial operation of new equipment and systems.Experiences/Education - RequiredBachelor of Science or equivalent in technical field.Yellow Belt Training.Track record of delivering results.Broad manufacturing and engineering experiences
