Job Summary
To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Sr. Process Molding Engineer located in Tijuana, Mexico.
- Reporting to the Sr. Director, Operations,the Sr. Process Molding Engineer role involves. What a typical day looks like:- The experience we're looking to add to our team:
- Define, develop, and deploy molding into Flex sites. Design the layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency and safety.
- Prepare RFQ's and solicit quotations from automation suppliers. Evaluate supplier quotations to determine the best combination of technical solution, cost, and timing.
- 20% - 25% Business Travel
- Customer support medical sites for product introduction and ramp up support
- Conduct equipment design reviews and provide design guidance to suppliers.
- Ability to present information to top management.
- Manage automation suppliers through all phases of projects.
- Provide on-site support during machine build, debug, and testing/qualification.
- Supervise installation and testing to verify requirements and specifications are met.
- Draft qualification protocols and support equipment qualification activities.
- Develop manufacturing solutions with the best combination of manual, semi-automation and/or full automation. Analyze and plan workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow.
- Implement cost effective automation solution.
- Support new product development automation needs, facilitate assembly processes through the implementation of assembly cells and automated equipment at NPI stage and ensure meeting development timeline.
- Interface with customers and functional owners on product development issues regarding automation. Conduct design-for-automation analysis and provide detailed recommendations.
- Participate in design reviews and provide status reports as per established schedule.
- Prepare and maintain documentation related to the operation of the automation equipment.
- Impacts the long-term (annual) direction and financial or operational success of the function and/or site.
- Approves and/or creates functional processes or technologies. Establishes and ensures effective achievement of functional strategic plans and objectives for the site.
- Develops plans for structuring and implementing major initiatives.
- Define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Here is some of what you will need (required)- Bachelor or Master degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Advanced English.
- Experience in Molding, Automation and Manufacturing engineering, including broad based project management and supervision
- Expert functional, technical and people and/or process management skills as well as customer (external and internal) relationship skills.
- Demonstrates detailed expertise in very complex functional/technical area or broad breadth of knowledge in multiple areas; understands the strategic impact of the function across sites.
