Overview:
The purpose of this position is to Design filters to customer's specs using design manufacturing techniques while staying within customer cost restraints.
**Responsibilities**:
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with company policies
- Establish project requirements with sales and customers
- Establish current manufacturing methods with manufacturing
- Design new manufacturing methods with manufacturing
- Building and testing sample filters
- Works with purchasing to spec and coordinate raw materials
- Set up project costs with costing department
- Fulfill all packaging requirements by working with vendors
- Create quality requirements with Quality control
- Work with all departments to guide and troubleshoot new product startups
- Regular testing of existing products to ensure compliance to claims
- Look for opportunities to take cost out of existing products through design, materials and processes.
Qualifications:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
- AutoCAD (Inventor or other 3D CAD experience a plus)
- Knowledge of spreadsheets (preferably Excel)
- Ability to handle multiple projects
- Strong oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
- Must be willing to travel periodically to US (Visa is a must)
- Project management skills (preferred)
- Plastic injection molded part design (preferred)
- Basic understanding of air filtration (preferred)
- English 90%
- 5 years of experience in similar position
