Our people make us who we are, and we create incredible products and experiences that empower us to THINK OUTSIDE.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: - Responsible for driving engineering tooling efficiencies for all metal stampings - Works in conjunction with Program leaders and Purchasing to lead world class tooling objectives - Update and maintain a standard RFQ for all stamping projects - Work directly with PDP leads and buyers - Specifies and defines tool configuration to meet the overall needs of the project (cost, quality, and schedule) - Works with Purchasing to build tool vendor relationships - Tracks tooling efficiencies for Program leaders - Utilize the Polaris product development process - Plans, conducts and supervises technical assignments. Reviews progress and evaluates results - Establishes projected part and tool costs and monitors the costs throughout the project - Builds a LPP model for stampings (LPP - Linear Performance Pricing) - Drives tool development from part conception thru start of production - Participates in design reviews to ensure adequate input and involvement from all engineering and functional groups - Attends clay reviews providing technical and commercial assessment of the tool/part cost - Knowledgeable in the processing characteristics of common materials and able to provide technical leadership to resolve quality problems - Completes cost analysis of tool and part assessing the optimized tool configuration - Analyzes field problems and recommends possible solutions - Other duties as assigned Required Experience and Skills - Bachelor of Science in Engineering - Minimum 5 years of tooling experience - Minimum 5 years of experience in processes of parts - Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of principles, practices and procedures to the completion of difficult technical problems and projects. - Creative and innovative - Decisive and prone to action - Quality and customer focused - ProE or similar CAD experienceAbout PolarisAs the global leader in Powersports, Polaris Inc.
