The Senior Purchasing Manager will be responsible for the materials management function relating to the planning, expediting, storage, control, distribution, and shipment of materials and products to meet operational objectives and customer requirements. The role will monitor and direct the materials and manufacturing planning, production control, material control, shipping and receiving functions associated with the support of the manufacturing operation.
**Responsabilites**:
- Manage the planning and flow of materials and FGs (finished goods) to maximize delivery performance while optimizing inventory performance
- Manage a team of 6 buyers
- Increase productivity, professional development, and careers
- Measure and manage the performance of materials indirect and direct support teams.
- Support the SIOP process and step in to lead as required
- Identify, share and implement best in class supply chain practices
- Develop standard work, policies, and procedures in collaboration with other regions Purchasing Managers and professional supply chain resources
- Suggest and lead continuous improvement for your department and others
- Manage Supplier held inventory programs to improve delivery, reduce lead-times and avoid E&O and risk to Vertiv
- Collaborate with other departments to drive continuous improvement for Vertiv
- Collaborate with other facilities and regions of the world to optimize inventory globally
- Monitor capacities and product line delivery performance and daily throughputs.
**Education & Certifications**:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration or related discipline.
- MBA or related advanced degree strongly preferred
- APICS or CPM certification
**Requirements**:
- 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, materials management, production planning or other material planning function.
- Experience in an industrial, high mix job shop environment
- Very proficient in spreadsheets, MS Office.
- An excellent understanding of our manufacturing operations, supply chain management and appropriate Vertiv products.
- Outstanding communication skills and ability to work at different levels of the organization and with outside customers as required
- Experience with ERP systems
- Experience leading cross-functional teams is required
- Knowledge of SIOP and production scheduling dynamics is required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Excellent communications skills - written & verbal
- 10% travel requirements.
