About the Role The Sr. Purchasing Specialist is responsible for following the purchasing process based on the requirements defined by the Master Plan. This role drives a purchasing process focused on timely delivery for parts of NPI projects with a strong emphasis on inventory control and reduction to maintain healthy levels of parts flow. She/He works with several individuals, including supervisors, suppliers, and individuals from other departments within the company. Must evaluate short, medium, and long-term requirements to prevent and prepare the best conditions to execute upcoming projects. Has the responsibility and authority to inform and escalate any risks that could affect monthly delivery. What You Will Do Execute sourcing strategies under the guidance of the Strategic Sourcing Manager. Establish the supply chain for new product development. Maintain current costing information. Create and maintain inventory, liaising with inventory teams and management. Place and follow through on purchase orders with all vendors. Collaborate with sourcing to search for new vendors and reductions in pricing. Consolidate shipments to minimize freight costs. Work jointly with the Finance Area to resolve invoice issues. Work on continuous improvement projects to enhance planning and production support. Support new product planning. Review inventory levels to support inventory reduction goals. Define and update all procedures related to the purchasing area. Define the right parameters on SAP to require and receive materials based on MPS signals to avoid excess inventory or delivery delays. Have the authority to stop a process or activity or provide coaching if unsafe conditions are detected. Work with the master planner to align demand with lead time of raw component confirmations. Implement lean manufacturing techniques related to material handling and control. Collaborate with different internal and external departments on strategies to address abnormalities or new challenges for the company. Be responsible for the processes and indicators of their own process and team. Participate and provide support related to environmental, health, and safety objectives and programs. Advanced English (reading and writing to enable fluid participation in negotiation processes). Knowledge and understanding of MRP functionality. Bachelor's degree. Experience with SAP is necessary.
