**Senior Quality Engineer**
Ensures the quality standards of the company are met in the products produced for customers.
Responsible for ensuring that processes and operations are completed to meet customer specification of quality, and efficiency.
Checks performance efficiency of machines, quality control of products, quality of staff and customer service.
Monitors the production and machinery to ensure quality.
**Functions and responsibilities**:
- Facilitates and assists with managing moderate scope quality engineering projects, which includes influencing objectives, timelines, work schedules, and leading communications within the plant.
Assists with the design of large projects.
- Manages the CAPA Corrective Action System for the Business Unit; Leads Corrective Action Teams for both Internal and Externally required CAPAs.
- Make sure that all the assembly, painting and welding activities are being performed as the requirements of certain codes and standards.
- Develops Weekly, Monthly, Annual, etc.
Quality Reports for management.
- Applies broad or specialized quality engineering and related manufacturing principles and practices while performing research on new or updated processes, standards, materials, and quality programs in the areas such as of statistical quality control and advanced product quality planning.
- Assists with communicating broad quality engineering and related manufacturing principles and practices.
- Reviews corrective action requests, inspection and audit results, failure reports, customer documentation, and other areas as required.
- Interprets results of inspections, audits and reports and implements solutions.
- Leads assigned teams in investigations, inspection programs, advanced testing, and related areas
- Develops and reviews reports, documents, and tests, and adjusts operations or activities as needed.
- Effectively interact with Production, Engineering and Development teams to maintain product quality and help to introduce new products.
- Responds to a variety of broad questions and concerns from customers, suppliers, and management regarding quality programs, test results, interpretation of findings, corrective actions, and other areas.
- Interprets and applies department policies and procedures and applicable laws, rules, and regulations; ensures compliance with these areas.
- Serves as a lead to staff to include assigning and monitoring work and providing direction.
- Rejects products not meeting specifications and hold further processing or shipment until non-conformances are resolved.
- Authorizes disposition of non-conforming product.
- Approves products for manufacturing and shipment.
- Interprets tolerances, drawings specifications, quality standards and procedures, or other part acceptance criteria for production personnel.
- Communicates directly with suppliers, customers and internal departments on Quality matters.
**Requirements and specific knowledge**:
- 5 to 8 years of experience in a similar position.
- Business English and fluid Spanish.
- Knowledge in Office and Inventory and Manufacturing Software.
