**Supplier Quality Engineer -Electronics****Job Description**:Assure that electronic assemblies produced by contract electronic assembly suppliers meet all design, quality, and reliability requirements.
Evaluate new and existing suppliers to identify supplier deficiencies and assist suppliers in correcting deficiencies.
Support new product launch teams by providing technical assessments of supplier processes/readiness and also by providing input to product design for ease of manufacturing.
**Education**:4 year Engineering Degree.
Prefer Electrical or Electronic major.
**Experience**:5 years minimum experience in high to medium volume production electronics assembly.
Possess in- depth working knowledge of key electronics assembly and quality processes, including:- PCB Component Assembly- SMT, Wave and Selective Soldering Processes- IPC Class 2/3 Manufacturing Standards- Conformal Coating / RTV- Testing: ICT, Final Test, Burn-in, Environmental, etc.- Box/Panel Assembly- Quality Systems & Tools (PPAP, APQP, ISO9001, TS16949 & Similar)- Must speak English**Tasks**:Evaluate suppliers by leading/conducting quality system audits using the Emerson Supplier Audit Checklist (ESAC).Lead/conduct process audits of suppliers.
Identify weaknesses and non-conformances.
Follow up with suppliers to assure corrective actions are implemented.Assess adequacy of supplier technical ability and process capability to produce Emerson electronic assemblies.Provide technical support to suppliers and Emerson concerning electronic assembly processes.- PCB Component Assembly- SMT, Wave, and selective Soldering Processes- IPC Class 2 /3 Manufacturing Standards- Conformal Coatings / RTV- Testing: ICT, Final Test, Burn-in, Environmental, etc.- Box/Panel Assembly- Quality Systems & Tools (PPAP, APQP, ISO9001, TS16949 & Similar)Monitor supplier's ongoing quality performance (PPM reject data, etc).
Liaison between Emerson (facilities and various departments) and suppliers to assure any quality issues are permanently corrected.Attend multiple weekly product launch team meetings and provide manufacturing related input.
Meetings may be web-cast or teleconferences.- Assist in the review of new product designs for manufacturability.- Report supplier issues, act as liaison between supplier and Emerson launch team.- Support new product launch at supplier facility as needed to assure timely and issue free launch.Use PPAP process to approve all production assemblies.- Initiate PPAP Warrants to suppliers.
Specify PPAP level and requirements.- Review supplier PPAP submissions and disposition as appropriate.
