The Sr Supplier Quality Engineer will report to the regional Supplier Quality Leader and will be responsible to work directly with suppliers to actively driving a "zero defect" mentality using problem solving & root cause analysis tools within the supply base.
This position requires to interact with all levels of supplier management.
As Resideo's point of contact within the supply base, you will support transition and supplier development activities within your assigned geographical area.
**JOB DUTIES**:
- Work closely with Design, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Process, etc.
on supplier related issues.
- Champion problem solving (8D & DDDW (Drill Deep Drill Wide), Implement & Verify corrective / preventative actions with cross functional teams.
- Implement contingency actions with the Supplier Base
- Implement Top Defect Matrix (TDM) within the supply base and work with Design & Manufacturing to close open actions (New & Existing Product).
- Review and Disposition of the assigned PPAP's from suppliers.
- Actively manage the assigned suppliers/parts to ensure seamless product launches for new parts or processes.
- Drive "Zero Defect" culture within the supply base by establishing quality roadmap, championing focus supplier meetings, validating corrective actions, supplier visits, conducting quality / process audits, etc.
- Identify and drive improvement projects on leading component failures using data from factory & external KPIs
- Evaluate supplier systems and conduct gap analysis where required
- Participation in the evaluation and feedback of reworked parts
- Support in the disposition of the rejected parts.
- Monitor supplier quality performance and give feedback to suppliers.
- Support on Supplier Assessment Audits in accord to Resideo Standards
- Support sourcing on QBRs, in Kaizen events, and continuous improvement (CI) projects.
- Work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors
- Provide technical insight to analyze risks and opportunities
**YOU MUST HAVE**:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electronic, Mechatronic, Mechanic, Industrial or Electromechanical preferably)
- 5-8 years of experience in a Supplier Quality environment
- Fluent in English
- No travel restrictions
**WE VALUE**:
- Certified Six Sigma Green/Black Belt or experience on implement this tools with suppliers, Quality engineer and Auditor
- 10+ years of professional experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong familiarity with quality & problem-solving tools
- 8D, Drill Deep Drill Wide, 5 Why, Kaizen, failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA), Control Plans and Production part approval process (PPAP)
- Outstanding people skills, with the specific ability to interact as a lead player, apply
- Ability to manage multiple assignments at the same time
- Demonstrate problem solving, conflict resolution and team building skills
- Value diversity of ideas, opinions, experiences, backgrounds, and perspectives needed to foster a competitive global business environment
- Have wide-ranging experience, use professional concepts and company objectives, internal and external contacts to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways
- Good negotiation skills and experience in developing win-win relationships with suppliers
- Comprehensive knowledge of advanced Quality engineering practices
- High level of interpersonal skills is required to handle difficult situations as well as diffuse interpersonal conflict effectively
- Self-motivated and able to get results with mínimal supervision and oversight
- Hands-on experience with quality assurance processes
- Experience on leading teams focused on problem solving and driving supplier improvements
- Good organizational and project management skills
- Be able to work in an office and production floor environment.
