Job DescriptionIn this Sr. Supplier Quality Engineer role, the collaborator will execute Supplier Quality core processes according to Automotive standards and Customer Specific Requirements. As a Senior level, the individual will support management to improve processes, maintain quality metrics, and define new metrics as needed.The Sr. Supplier Quality Engineer must have a strong background in Project Management, Problem Solving Methodology, Teamwork, and a solid Continuous Improvement mindset, as this position requires close collaboration with our supplier base to initiate improvement projects aimed at reducing quality incidents due to components at both internal and end customer levels.Activities/Experience:Be part of the supplier selection process by establishing Supplier Quality Agreements and confirming manufacturing best practices and a continuous improvement mindset through process control audits.Lead supplier engineering activities to complete Supplier PPAP for new components in new programs for Automotive products.Revise and validate Process Change Notifications (PCN) from our supplier base to ensure changes made by suppliers will not impact quality or cost.Support the Customer Quality Engineering team from North America, Europe, and Japan to escalate quality cases with our suppliers to assure adequate response time and quality of the 8D.Knowledge of different Mechanical commodities such as enclosures, castings, plastic parts, injection molding, harnesses, brackets, adhesives, and gaskets.Clear Mechanical Drawing interpretations (GD&T).Support the Incoming Inspection and MRB coordinators to meet aging and inventory metrics.Define strategic projects to reduce Automotive Quality PPM by identifying key suppliers on specific components being main contributors.Clear understanding of Automotive Standards IATF16949 and ISO 9001.Strong knowledge of statistical tools for problem resolution (8D, PDCA, DMAIC, DOE) and APQP tools (MSA, PCP, PFMEA, PPAP).Must have 5 to 10 years of experience in the Automotive Business environment as a Supplier Quality Engineer.Able to travel to North America and Asia (up to 20% of time).Education:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.Six Sigma training.Bilingual: English & Spanish (90%).#J-18808-Ljbffr
