.This role will serve as an authority on animal health and scientific & regulatory environment for the business (manufacturing plants, raw materials, products, internal labs authorization and pet center). Responsibilities also include support for Imports and Exports.This person will also be responsible for drafting and influencing positions and representing the business technical view on key scientific, sanitary and regulatory matters with Government authorities, trade associations, key opinion leaders.The associate will need to have a good working knowledge of Federal regulations, pet food nutrition, product development, quality, manufacturing technical support and animal welfare & ethics.Be an active leader participant in the Latin America community and balancing Mexican stakeholders**What are we looking for?**:- Communicates Effectively (A)Decision quality (A)Balancing stakeholders- (A)Manages Ambiguity (A)Builds Effective Teams (A)Strategic Mindset (A)- Pet food regulations knowledge- Risk ID and Management- Influencing- QMP (Quality Management Process)- SRA Standards**What will be your key responsibilities?**:- REGULATORY AFFAIRS: Maximize opportunity & minimize risk by guiding business decisions based on scientific & regulatory insight and provide appropriate governance structure- Key player in technical development and/or collaboration agenda with corporate affairs to present a Mars Mexico position on an issue or a business strategy.- Assure trade association and government regulation /policies strategic influence based on science.- Develop and establish a regulatory network of local government officials, trade associations, affiliate Mars associates and legal team, to assure the alignment of new regulatory initiatives.- Monitor & interpret scientific & technical aspects of regulations. Keep the business updated, no surprises.- Influence the International Trade barrier for new import/export process with the government authority.- Active participation and leadership in Latin America (registration requisites and regulatory environmen- Lead SRA standards and SRA systems implementation in Mexico,- Coordinate the Mexican SRA team aling with SRA Regional strategy.- Control SRA operational cost for Mexico (budget)- Manage Regulatory Challenges with Ministries and internal stakeholders, assuring timely communication, regulatory mitigation plan development and risk management.- REGULATORY COMPLIANCE: Ensure compliance with product-related regulation, including but not limited to: plants, Ingredients, labeling, claims, product registration, packaging & import/export challenges. This role will have results through the SRA coordinators mainly.- Develop,implement efficient WOW to manage the compliance in the country.- Assure the team remains updated and understand the regulatory implications of World events which may have a direct impact on our business (examples include BSE, Avian Flu)
