The Accounting Manager will oversee day-to-day accounting operations ( Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, GL, etc.) and perform monthly close processes. The Accounter Manager will be involved in inventory accounting, financial statements, and audits. The hired Accounting Manager will report to the Fractional CFO and display strong verbal and written communication. The Accounting Manager will be a detail-oriented individual, with experience managing small teams and reviewing team member's reporting.
ACCOUNTING MANAGER DUTIES
General Ledger (G/L) Accounting
\* Perform day-to-day accounting operations and month/quarter/year-end close process.
\* Ensure correct entry of accruals and journal entries every month during closing periods.
\* Prepare account and bank reconciliations.
\* Manage the accounts payable (A/P) process.
\* Responsible for recording accruals and other general ledger-related transactions.
\* Ensures financial accounts are properly supported and reconciliated on a monthly basis.
\* Ability to perform variance analysis and other reporting tasks, as needed.
\* Ensures the accurate recording of invoices and payments and AP controls are maintained.
\* Manage corporate card processes and oversee the accurate recording of monthly expenses.
\* Responsible for 1099/1042s reporting along with but not limited to payments reporting requirements for other countries, at year-end.
Inventory and fixed Assets Accounting
\* Reconcile inventory counts periodically.
\* Write off inventory as needed
\* Supervise Capital Assets recording and depreciation ( buildings, computer equipment, machinery, and vehicles).
Internal Controls
\* Ensure existing financial controls are compliant with GAAP.
\* Recommend any improvements
Financial Reporting
\* Prepare reports for management.
\* Prepare month-end reports such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Compliance
\* Participate in all financial and tax audits as needed, including sales and usage taxes.
Miscellaneous
\* Accept any other analytical projects as assigned by the Fractional CFO
ACCOUNTING MANAGER QUALIFICATIONS
Required
\* A bachelor's in accounting, or 3-5 years of equivalent work experience.
\* At least five (5) years of work experience in accounting in a CPG Distribution/Manufacturing environment.
\*2 years of US GAAP experience.
\* 2 years of internal controls experience.
\* 3-5 years of experience using Microsoft Office, Including Excel at an advanced level.
Preferred
\* 5 years of experience with Acumatica ERP and QuickBooks
\* 3-5 years of experience in ERP migration from QBO for multiple entities.
