We're looking for an exceptional Staff Accountant to join our growing Accounting team.
As our Staff Accountant, you'll be an important member of our accounting team, working closely with the Controller and cross-functional teams to support growth and further build upon our internal accounting operations and policies.
**Scope of Responsibilities**:
- Responsible for the maintenance of general and subsidiary ledgers, accounts receivable, revenue distribution, depreciation, cost, and operating expenses, and insurance records of multiple entities/brands.
- Assist with monthly financial close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements in compliance with GAAP
- Responsible for assuring that assets are properly recorded in the fixed asset records maintained by Central Accounting
- Reviews financial statements with Controller. Ensures reasonableness and accuracy of financial statements to their knowledge of underlying facts.
- Reviews and Reconciles inventory.
- Reviews reports and productivity for enhancement and correctness with input to department managers.
- Administrates the company's online bank portal. Sets up and approves users. Downloads bank transactions.
- Assures that internal financial reporting is done within prescribed timelines
- Provides financial and analytical support to management
- Executes and monitors compliance with accounting and reporting related procedures
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures and safety rules as stated in the Employee Handbook and otherwise posted or communicated.
- Other duties as assigned by Controller and/or management to reach Company goals.
- Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
- Prepare bank reconciliations and post appropriate adjusting entries.
- Prepare general ledger & balance sheet reconciliations.
- Communicate and coordinate all reconciliation problems and resolutions with management team and Assistant Controller to assure timely resolution
- General administrative, back-office duties and knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
- Perform account reconciliation of undeposited funds
- Prepare journal entries and supporting documentation
- Compile and analyze large data for end user
- Maintain financial policies, procedures and internal controls
- Recommend ways to reduce costs and enhance revenue
**You Have**:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- 3 - 5 years progressive accounting work experience
- Experience in a manufacturing or Wholesale distribution business experience is highly preferred!
- NetSuite ERP experience preferred!
- Proficiency in Excel is required (advanced Excel skills: pivot table, vlookup, etc.)
- General knowledge of US GAAP, accounting policies, procedures and internal controls
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization.
