**About the company**:
The **Staff Accountant** is responsible for supporting the General Ledger Accounting function by conducting balance sheet analysis and reconciliation, journal entry preparation, intercompany accounting and fixed asset accounting.
**The specific duties of this position include**:
- Prepare and review recurring journal entries for multiple entities and maintain intercompany integrity.
- Create journal entries to correct balances in the general ledger.
- Prepare periodic reports as assigned.
- Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts, including balance sheet and expense accounts.
- Input fixed asset additions and disposals to the Fixed Asset System.
- Utilize fixed assets software to develop and book monthly depreciation.
- Assist in the monthly report preparation
- Assist in preparation of financial plans and budgets
- Responsible for working effectively with and assisting external and internal auditors.
- Support month end closing tasks for multiple entities, including account variance review and root cause analysis.
- Perform data compilation, analysis and procedures to ensure effective internal controls and compliance with Sarbanes Oxley.
- Prepare and send periodic reports to management and be able to respond to questions concerning the data presented.

**Requirements**:
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
- 2+ years of general ledger accounting experience.
- 1+ year of auditing experience (preferably with Big-4 firm).
- Working knowledge of US GAAP.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP and / or JD Edwards preferred, but not required.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business information/documents.
- Advanced problem solving and organizational skills.
- Excellent task management and follow-up skills.
- Knowledge of, and hands on experience in continuous improvement concepts.
- Sarbanes-Oxley experience desired, but not required.
