**Opportunity**
BASIC FUNCTION
Under the functional guidance of the Engineering Manager, the Staff Engineer will manage and execute the development of new faucet and sanitary products and the adaptation and redesign of existing products for introduction into various markets.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages and executes complex engineering projects involving development of new products and changes to existing products including specification, concept, design, qualification, and verification of products and sub-assemblies.
Creates and maintains product specifications to meet Kohler and regulatory requirements.
Uses engineering tools to ensure robust design of products that meet market needs, cost targets, margin goals, code requirements.
Coordinates engineering activities with other functional areas, remote plants, suppliers, and contractors. Actively and effectively supports local plant activities.
Manages assigned engineers, CAD designers, and support staff which may include test lab technicians, prototype technicians, and other engineering services support staff (e.g., packaging engineering, technical communications).
Take out New Projects in Project Online as identified by Marketing, creating Project Charter and route for approval, align with project sponsor. Create Project Timeline; meeting with team for team input. Create Project Document in POL, inlcudes scope, updates required throughout project.

Hold regular team meetings to ensure project is moving forward and assist where needed, ensure all tasks are being performed, getting all stage gates approval. Ensure all processes in project development are fulfilled, from SKU Creation (SRR), tech sheet (Datamart), inventory built (TRIB) and Product Release (BRFS).
Provide budget updates throughout the project to ensure adherence to budget. Ensure ACT is created and routed.
Travel: Moderate travel to North American and international locations to meet with Kohler team members, guide project execution, and communicate project needs to Kohler and supplier facilities.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Hard Skills
Strong Analysis of Design Interfaces thorugh Tolerance Stack Analysis to guarantee design intend.
Moderate use of CREO CAD Software to Model and Inspect 3D files, elaborate Assemblies and 2D Drawings thorugh the use of ASME Y14.5M for GD&T.
Strong Mechanical Design Fundamentals for Manufacturing processes such as Injection Molding, Casting, Machining as well as applied finished such as PVD and Platting.
Very Strong on Design for Variability Applications, such as DFSS, Process Capability (CPK), etc.
Project Online knowledge. Experience on leading projects and building timeline.
