The world's most sophisticated networks rely on CommScope connectivity. We are looking for Staff Material Failure Analysis Engineer to join our Apodaca, Mexico Team .
How You'll Help Us Connect the World Evaluates material and component characteristics to determine failure mechanism (mechanical fractures, contamination, corrosion, etc). Analyze and interpret data from various sources: SEM/EDS, X-Ray, CSAM, FTIR, DSC. Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to optimize material selection and processing methods. Communicate timelines for publication of results and/or any delays that may occur because of hardware or other issues. Prepare detailed technical reports and presentations summarizing findings and recommendations. Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior engineers and cross-functional teams. Stay updated on industry trends, advancements in materials science, and failure analysis techniques. Be responsible for operation and maintenance of the FTIR, Differential Scanning Calorimeter (DSC) and related lab equipment. Required Qualifications for Consideration Master's or PhD degree in Materials Science, Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or a closely related field. Experience working with polymer materials. Hands-on experience using SEM, EDS, metallographic sample preparation, and related analytical instruments for polymers (FTIR, DSC, TGA, TMA). Experience of at least 5 years in Failure Analysis Lab environment (includes University Labs). Positive attitude, collaborative, with good interpersonal and communication skills. Strong time management skills with ability to meet deadlines. Blue print reading and computer literacy. Must be able to communicate in English (listen, write, speak
