To do this, we are investing in technology, and businesses focusing on micro-transit, commercial solutions for fleet customers, enhancing the vehicle ownership experience and developing the Transportation Mobility Cloud, which will host mobility-related solutions.- THE ROLE:As a steering engineer for Ford of Mexico you will interact with counterparts in Ford North America, and Ford of Europe, the main responsabilities and roles the engineer will fulfill are:- The role requires the engineer to design, validate, launch and mantain steering components (RV gear, Lines, Steering Columns, Steering gears, etc.).- The position will require the engineer to understand DTC's (Diagnostic Trouble Codes), log information using the CAN/BUS and use this information to propperly diagnose problems within the systems or vechicles.- The engineer will be capable of defining failure modes, root causes, and use tools (CAE, bench, HIL, etc.) to define the solution best suited for each condition.- The engineer will monitor warranties for steering components, and work through design processes to solve and prevent recurrence of similar warranties.- The engineer will identify cost opportunities within his/her components and will deliver a more efficient solution. The full design process will be required (design, validate, improve and implement) and no attributes will be affected by the new design.- The engineer will interface with suppliers, plants, purchasing. She/he will evaluate/validate the impact of changes in design, production process, resourcing, layout, and interactions with other systems.YOUR IMPACT:- 2. Responsible for D&R of steering, within Ford of Mexico- 3. Comply with Program cost, weight, quality, performance and timing targets.- 5. Follow Robustness Engineering Disciplines (Failure Mode Avoidance).- 7. Develop ESOW (Engineering Statement of Work) and participate in the Sourcing Process (SA, ED&T review, piece and tooling cost review and CPA).- 8. Follow the TDR process (Technical Design Review).- 9. Release parts in FEDEBOM and WERS through the product life cycle.- 10. Support the Change Control Process.- 11. Audit and update BOM (Bill of Material) with correct part levels and usage, for prototype builds and maintain it post Job 1.- 12. Be aware of Worldwide Engineering changes and proceed accordingly.- 13. Identify validation, durability and functional test required as per SDS, WCR & ES (DVP / FEDE).- 14
