At Smith+Nephew we design and manufacture technology that takes the limits off living.As the Strategic Account Manager Sports Medicine, you will drive business performance, grow market share and will be responsible for engaging assigned customer profiles (private clinics and buying groups) to become promoters of our products and the company. You will report directly to the National Sales Manager and will closely collaborate with Marketing team, Territory Managers and the Center of Excellence (CoE). As a senior team member, you will contribute towards the achievement of the overall Business Sales Targets.What you will be doing?Account Management: Lead complex, high-profile sales accounts within the country (Netherlands). Build and maintain positive relationships with key customers, ensuring their needs are met and encouraging long-term partnerships.Sales Strategy: Generate revenue by closing national account sales within the assigned customer profiles that are essential to the company in terms of market share growth and other business goals. Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets.Contract Negotiation: Lead negotiations with customers and achieve results regarding turnover/margin with our portfolio in the assigned accounts.Market Analysis: Identify and capitalize on market opportunities through research, competitor analysis, and customer feedback.Collaboration: Collaborate with Territory Managers and the Technical Service Specialist within the Sports Medicine team on project mapping of major opportunities for a smooth resolution of product and service-related challenges. Work closely with the marketing, product development, and clinical teams to ensure alignment in strategy and execution.Product Expertise: Maintain outstanding knowledge of our product portfolio, clinical and technical information, product strategy, market and commercial positioning.Customer Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for strategic accounts, addressing any concerns and ensuring customer happiness.What will you need to be successful?Education: Bachelor's degree in (para) medical studies, business, marketing or economic direction, or equivalent experience.Experience: Confirmed experience in sales or account management, preferably in sports medicine, medical devices, or healthcare.Proven track record of achieving sales targets and building strong customer relationships.Strong background in leading high-stakes negotiations and closing high-value deals.Existing commercial experience in the operating room environment is an advantage.In-depth understanding of the Medical Device Industry, including current market trends, regulatory requirements and the competitive landscape.Knowledge of Dutch public and private healthcare system.Proficiency in analyzing markets, developing business strategies, and understanding industry dynamics
