Job OverviewThis individual is responsible for the strategic development, management, and execution of our continuous improvement objectives and the day-to-day management of our Manufacturing Engineering team. In this hands-on role, this person will lead a team of engineers to support operations by implementing and sustaining LEAN Manufacturing processes aimed at improving product quality, line efficiency/process optimization, labor utilization, layout optimization, and operating costs for both existing and new products.A Day In The LifeManage, train and develop manufacturing support team to establish and ensure top level performance.Lead the implementation of LEAN Manufacturing principles throughout the manufacturing process. Contribute to and assist with Continuous Improvement/Kaizen activities throughout the plant.Prioritize, manage, and resolve manufacturing process, equipment/tooling and maintenance problems in real-time to ensure the best outcomes for our customers and the business.Identify, plan, manage and execute continuous improvement actions that reduce cost, cycle time, and lead time while increasing safety, quality, and repeatability.Oversee the creation of equipment specifications for purchasing of capital equipment and the design of tooling, jigs and fixtures to ensure effective results.Evaluate and execute time studies to establish engineering labor standards and routings.Prepare standard work documents for new and existing manufacturing processes.Lead projects and working teams to effectively initiate, plan, execute, monitor and close projects.Develop tooling or fixtures for new products and assembly processes.Organize and coordinate Kaizen activities, including the planning and execution of Kaizen events/teams which includes the collection and preparation of proper prerequisite data for each Kaizen event. Monitor and report on 90-day sustainment of Kaizen event improvements.Train employees on Continuous Improvement techniques as needed to assure complete familiarity and ease of use. This includes Principles of Lean Manufacturing, Takt Time, Standard.What will help you thrive in this role?Minimum of seven (7) years of manufacturing engineering experience.Minimum of three (3) years managing a team of engineers.Minimum of three (3) years Lean Manufacturing experience (LEAN Manufacturing certification is a plus).Experience with automation applications and implementation a plus.SAP experience desired.Facility layout optimization experience desired.Time Study and labor standards experience required.Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.Hands-on, driven, analytical, results-oriented, customer-centric, self-starter with strong change management skills and mechanical aptitude that enjoys leading diverse teams.Demonstrated ability to work on multiple tasks and projects over a wide range of priorities.Able to work with all levels of operational and professional staff.Good communication and interpersonal skills.Proficient in computer operation (AutoCAD and/or Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.).Attentive to details and accuracy.Good time management skills.CompetenciesBuilding Relationships and NetworksCoaching and Developing OthersEmotional IntelligenceInnovation and ChangeResolving Conflict
