**Description**

This position manages Signal Projects & Operation projects that involve new signals facilities and is responsible for development engineering and planning of the new projects for elaborating the technical specifications of the mentioned projects.
It determines the processes for its field implementation, training and advising to the personnel in its use, and elaborating the plans and required technical specifications to guarantee success in the tests and the startup of the acquired technologies.
The primary responsibility for this position is finishing the projects on time and spending resources in the best way within the assigned budget.
Uses developed specialized skills to complete a wide range of tasks and procedures with a limited degree of supervision.
Takes a broad approach to problems.
Acts as an informal resource for team members with less experience.
Delivers work, which often impacts quality of team output to agreed timescales, service levels or similar metric.
**Accountabilities**
- Determines the process for the implementation in the field of new projects, inspecting the new equipment together with the signaling supervisor and the territory administrator, to modify, adapt or correct the required adjustments properly.
- Enables and advises in the use of the new technologies and equipment, making recommendations on the installation and operation of the new technology, to ensure the success for its start up.
- Understands the relevant business metrics and applies effective tactics to sustain a culture of operational effectiveness that produces teams of high performing, engaged and empowered operational leaders.
- Identifies when a rule/regulation/policy has been violated and has one-on-one accountability conversations with an individual who has not met expectations, using KCS Candor, Aligning the Stars & KCS ABC's, and have the individual produce better results.

**Required**
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum two (2) years of relevant operations experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Acumen in one or more disciplines of railroad operations

**Preferred**
- Three years - Development of engineering, Interpretation, checking and corrections for blueprints.
- Three years - Knowledge on English translation of manuals.
**Working Conditions**
- Shift work is an essential function of this job.
Employees must have the ability and willingness to support critically important railroad operations 24 hours per day/7 days per week, working various shifts as assigned.
Schedule assignments may include after-hours, weekends and holidays.
