**Description**

This position manages Signal Projects & Operation projects that involve new signals facilities and is responsible for development engineering and planning of the new projects for elaborating the technical specifications of the mentioned projects. It determines the processes for its field implementation, training and advising to the personnel in its use, and elaborating the plans and required technical specifications to guarantee success in the tests and the startup of the acquired technologies. The primary responsibility for this position is finishing the projects on time and spending resources in the best way within the assigned budget.

Uses developed specialized skills to complete a wide range of tasks and procedures with a limited degree of supervision. Takes a broad approach to problems. Acts as an informal resource for team members with less experience. Delivers work, which often impacts quality of team output to agreed timescales, service levels or similar metric.

**Accountabilities**
- Ensure compliance with the regulations and policies of CPKC, with collaborators, clients, contractors and suppliers.
- Manage and control S&C projects and operational capacity involving signaling systems and warning devices in CPKC.
- Ensure that all S&C area projects comply with the RS&I, CPKC Field Print Typical Book (Construction Manual) and AREMA (American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-way Association) standards.
- Manage the human, material and financial resources assigned to achieve the established objectives.
- Ensure the training of personnel in the maintenance area that receives the deliverables of each project.
- Follow the procedures related to your area of responsibility.
- Conclude the projects according to the planning and assigned budget.
- Ensure that at the end of each project the deliverables are met according to the specifications and without leaving pending or corrective actions.
- Ensure that the commissioning tests of each project deliverable are carried out under the verification sheets established in the project area procedures.
- Carry out the assignments requested by their superiors.
- Ensure adherence to safety policies, environment, manuals, regulations, procedures, continuous improvement, productivity, innovation, and an adequate work environment in the areas under their responsibility. Comply with the provisions of the management system.
- Demonstrates customer focus and contingency planning to ensure stakeholder expectations are met.
- Understands the relevant business metrics and applies effective tactics to sustain a culture of operational effectiveness that produces teams of high performing, engaged and empowered operational leaders.
- Identifies when a rule/regulation/policy has been violated and has one-on-one accountability conversations with an individual who has not met expectations, using CPKC Candor, Aligning the Stars & CPKC ABC's, and have the individual produce better results.

**Accountabilities**

The indicators to measure compliance with the responsibilities of the position are the following:

- Derailment attributable to the S&C Area.
- Compliance with project progress schedule.
- Compliance with project budget.
- Compliance with the quality of projects.
- Compliance with the delivery time of Projects.
- Reportable and Non-Reportable Injuries by the S&C
- Non-compliance with technical specifications.
- Improvements implemented.
- Compliance with the project supervision program.
- Compliance with the management system.
- Amount of materials remaining from projects.

**Required**
- University degree or equivalent.
- Minimum two (2) years of relevant operations experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience

**Preferred**
- Two years - Engineering development, interpretation, verification and corrections for plans.
- Two years - Project Manager.
