.**Description**This position is responsible for supervising the maintenance of the locomotive hauling units so that they are ready to circulate under the standards established by the railway association, delivering them in the required quality and timeliness.This position is also responsible for responding or directing personnel to manage service interruptions within the terminal and on mainline, ensure daily TSP requirements are achieved, managing special projects / locomotive fleet modifications in support of locomotive fleet health initiatives; personnel management; meeting objectives to support service track and International Bridge fluidity and terminal production plans; and ensuring all work is being performed within company guidelines, safety rules, OEM best practices, and FRA and AAR regulations.**Accountabilities**- Performs maintenance services with the required quality and timeliness, complying with the standards.- Verifies that the spare parts and materials applied are those established by the rules, manuals and established standards.- Validates that the repairs meet the quality conditions and required presentations.- Verifies that the equipment, tools and facilities are used in accordance with their characteristics and existing regulations.- Performs unit inspection.- Prepares repair progress reports and final reports.- Demonstrates KCS's commitment to being ONE TEAM - Living a Speak Up Culture - by using communication and interpersonal skills to enhance inclusion, civility, respect, innovation, safety, customer focus, teamwork within KCS, while encouraging and enabling others to do the same.- Defines and communicates clearly the teams roles and responsibilities; holds people accountable for accomplishing objectives; recognizes and rewards people who achieve results and deliver on performance expectations; provides pinpointed (specific & measurable) feedback on performance.- Develops and retains a strong team of high performers; creates a challenging and rewarding work environment; organizes a diverse group of people into a cohesive team to leverage their energy, knowledge and skills; creates grassroots / localized events to train & develop others - including location-specific safety training, localized Speak Up events, regular recognition or team-building activities.- Exemplifies KCS Vision, Values, and Culture in each and every interaction with team, clients, and stakeholders.**Required**- High School diploma or equivalent- Minimum two (2) years of relevant operations experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience- 2 years in locomotive cars maintenance**Working Conditions**- Shift work is an essential function of this job. Employees must have the ability and willingness to support critically important railroad operations 24 hours per day/7 days per week, working various shifts as assigned. Schedule assignments may include after-hours, weekends and holidays
