**Job Profile: Customs Compliance Supervisor**
**Job Summary**:
This is a supervisory position with a focus on customs spend reduction through full use of a country's customs regulations, provide content analysis for duty reductions and drawback opportunities, review product classification and ensure compliance to all governmental customs regulations and internal processes.
This position will be based at the facilities in Monterrey MX. (Apodaca)
- Maquiladora Program regulations. (IMMEX)
- NAFTA customs regulations, free-trade agreement qualification, certificate of origin solicitation, Annexo 24, Anexo 31 (SCCCyG), pedimentos virtuales, Regla Octava, PROSEC, etc.
- OEA Register
- VAT Register (IVA/IEPS)
- C-TPAT Program Certification
- Incoterms
- MX/U.S. Customs Broker relationship
**Travel**: eventually, trips to Laredo area or USA for workshops or training sessions..
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following**:
- Support the Monterrey plants with all customs issues related to Maquiladora Program (IMMEX).
- Develop, maintain, publish, communicate and train Monterrey MX personnel on customs processes and procedures as outlined in the MX Customs Compliance Manual.
- Follow internal control procedures when working with MX/US brokers, carriers or MX Customs authorities.
- Responsible for administering, benchmarking and negotiating customs brokerage services for Mexico requirements.
- Provide support to our Plant personnel (especially the finance team) to develop and maintain budgets related to customs expenses.
- Provide guidance on relevant country's customs record keeping regulations and ensure compliance within Monterrey MX facilities
- Coordinate the Certificate of Origin & Manufacturer Affidavits Solicitation collection process with Monterrey plant suppliers
- Ensure that BOM's and NAFTA Cost Sheets are maintained
- Ensure C-TPAT and OEA Compliance for Monterrey plants; this includes conducting internal audits and distributing the survey to all Monterrey plants suppliers and logistics service providers
- Liaison between the ZOE (Or other Annex 24 software) I.T. team and Monterrey plants using this system to ensure best use of system and to resolve issues.
- Work with our Purchasing and Sales teams on "what-if" scenarios, which will include determining customs duties and import fees, which make up the total landed cost.
- Resolve invoice and billing issues related to the customs process or our customs brokers.
- Handle day-to-day compliance issues that delay the clearance of goods through the import entry process and anticipate problems and diffuse situations.
- Manage Customs Brokerage process and hold Broker Business Reviews on a regular basis; review general brokerage operations and recommend service improvements or development of new deliverables.
- Design/Map/Assess Supply Chain Risk management and risk analysis for internal controls relating to import areas such as classification, valuation, Free Trade Agreements, Other Government Agencies, etc.
- Follow up and comply with all Global Trade Compliance Team policies.
