**_What Facilities Management/Maintenance contributes to Cardinal Health _**
Facilities Management/Maintenance is responsible for supporting the physical structure of a company facility.
As a Maintenance Engineer you will be responsible for the continuous running of equipment and machinery. You will use computerized systems to oversee routine maintenance and organize repairs.
Maintenance engineers are also involved in control and monitoring devices and occasionally in the manufacture of items that will help in maintenance playing a vital role in the efficiency, development and production.
Maintenance engineers work with other professionals in order to improve production facilities, reduce the incidence of costly breakdowns and develop strategies to improve overall reliability and safety of plant, personnel and production processes.
As a Supervisor, you will mentor and lead others promoting an environment of mentorship, collaboration, knowledge and accountability.
**Accountabilities**
- Lead and Implement maintenance strategies, procedures and methods to optimize services and capabilities of existing and new equipment
- Liaising with client departments, customers and other engineering and production colleagues to maintain optimal levels of equipment functionality. Carry out routine scheduled preventive maintenance work.
- Diagnosing breakdown problems
- Fitting new parts and making sure equipment is working correctly
- Carrying out quality inspections on jobs
- Controlling maintenance tools, stores and equipment
- Monitoring and controlling maintenance costs
- Improving health and safety policies and procedures
- Writing maintenance strategies to help with installation and commissioning guidelines
- Working with specialist equipment, such as programmable logic controllers (PLC), which control machinery on factory assembly lines
**_ Qualifications_**
- ** 4 year degree preferably in electromechanical engineering or closely related field.**
- ** 2+ years equipment maintenance experience in a lead role within a manufacturing environment.**
- ** Or equivalent combination of education and experience.**
- ** Advanced proficiency in English (75%).**
- ** Technical level expertise in industrial building, health, safety and environmental codes, procedures, practices, and requirements.**
- ** Proficiency with PC office/business communications and programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.).**
- ** Proficiency in Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).**
- ** Proficiency in MP10 or Maximo is highly preferred**
- ** Ability to develop strategic relationships and cooperatively work with cross functional teams**
