Position Purpose The Senior Drafter Layout Specialist is responsible for ensuring the correct execution of AutoCAD drafting for all layers of new and existing AutoZone store prototypes. This includes supervising the maintenance and updating of current prototypes, such as fixture layers, text layers, dimensional layers, and reset projects, while ensuring timely uploads of the correct FOG line list for new stores. The role also involves auditing and modifying existing layouts based on changes from Store Operations and generating new proposal prototypes in collaboration with various AutoZone departments. Changes must be documented appropriately across functional areas for the set-up department and store operations as required.
Primary Accountabilities Defines, supervises, completes, and reviews the detail layers required for all new and existing stores and HUBs, including updating, reviewing, and modifying prototype plans based on change requests from Merchandise according to space strategy. These layers include merchandise text, floor displays, location codes, and fixture codes used to determine size, fixture type, positioning, and dimensional information while considering correct adjacency of merchandise. Supervises and reviews the execution of new store POG clonation processes, uploads FOG line lists, and fixture downloads by the Drafter Layout Specialist. Delivers information (POG/FOG Packet and price labels) to ensure the set-up team can execute according to IDS dates. Coordinates the execution of reset projects in collaboration with the Process Improvement Project Manager. Validates store layout needs related to sales floor fixture characteristics, hard parts racks, correct FOG locations, and any additional needs (Electrical, sales floor signage, POGs, and FOGs implementation, etc.). Manages and coordinates Hard Parts flexograms for stores, which includes: Coordinating Kick Off meetings for Flexogram Line Review Defining space disposition for Flexogram in store/digital Setting Spanish descriptions of SKUs ADDs/Keeps of Flexograms Generating and distributing Zoner Action Plan (ZAP) and Schematic for each flexogram Ensuring the correct sequencing according to the strategy of each flexogram (Part Numbers, Sub Categories (Major/Minor), Brand, Prefixes, etc.) Generating line list comparisons (Map) of each category vs. space disposition for Line Review Tracker (LRT), ensuring the correct assignment of parts to stores based on their capacity. Acts as the main flexograms contact for the operation and merchandising team to ensure correct implementation and use. Manages, coordinates, and executes layout improvement projects, which may include: Generating and leading Kick Off meetings Coordinating and delegating responsibilities in functional areas as needed Defining execution dates Coordinating timely execution Ensuring correct project closure for each functional area Manages and generates space optimization efforts in the Hard Parts area (Stores/HUBs/MegaHubs), including: Generating and updating schematic diagrams for each Flexogram based on space disposition and optimization best practices Ensuring schematics are used and correctly executed Managing special space-related projects on Hard Parts and sales floor from hypothesis generation to evaluating results within the established timeframe Education & Experience Level of Formal Education: A Bachelor's degree (BA, BS) or equivalent.
Area of Study: Business, Engineering, Technology, Industrial Design, Architecture.
Years of Experience: Five to seven years.
Type of Experience: Project management, Retail, Store Operations, Merchandising, Visual Design.
Special Certifications or Technical Skills: AutoCAD.
Other/Preferred: JDA Space Planning, SpaceMan, Intermediate English, Project Management skills.
