Here are the key responsibilities:
**Searching for new suppliers**: due to the nearshoring effect, there is a need to search and identify new suppliers in different databases and industrial clusters.
**Onboarding of new suppliers**: new suppliers need to have the access to different platforms and systems, the buyer is the facilitator and guidance of suppliers to get the system accesses and training to be able to get the supplier code, get technical information to quote and upload the quotes.
**Sourcing Process**: The Buyer is responsible to lead all the sourcing process.
- Complete information before RFQ. Assuring that all the information is in the system before it is released for RFQs.
- Supplier identification. The Buyer will put together the list of suppliers that are part of the strategy and will request stakeholders for their approval.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Supply Chain and Supplier Quality, to make sure the suppliers understand the requirements before quoting.
- Collect and analyze suppliers' technical and financial offers.
- Have negotiation rounds with the suppliers in order to have the best technical and financial offer
- Recommendation and Purchase Decision. Present to top management the best supplier and rationale for source selection, according to Offer Assessments
**Basic Qualifications**:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, or equivalent; Other technical degrees with business background also considered
- 3 years of Professional Experience or knowledge of manufacturing processes Strong understanding of automotive quality standards and audits.
- Must be well organized, self-motivated, and resourceful managing complex situations
- Must be comfortable in a fast paced environment and be able to effectively interface with cross functional teams and all levels of senior management
- Strong communication skills in English and Spanish.
- Solid understanding and practical use of MS Office
