Supplier Development Engineer (SDE) provides quality and technical guidance to engineering on cross-functional R&D and Operations projects, including New Product Development, Product Support, and Value Engineering.
The primary duty of this position is to provide support in the selection and development for Milwaukee Tool's key suppliers through manufacturing efficiency.
SDE will participate in on-site assessments to verify supplier capacity and capabilities providing also support on-site as needed.
This position will develop action plans and drive implementation to close supplier gaps to fulfil the order demand in the specific quality level and volume time frame.

You'll also be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilities:
- Broad functional exposure across supply management activities to include product launch, supplier qualification and performance management.
- Evaluate supplier capacity since early stages of supplier selection, validate capacity plan and verify in every stage as needed.
- Work closely with sourcing and engineering to identify gaps and to develop new suppliers to get them up to Milwaukee standards (including regulatory requirements).
- Drive supplier delivery & capacity issues and monitor plans for efficiency improvement.
- Reaches agreements with suppliers in Milwaukee Tool Supplier Quality Manual and supports in Quality topics in Master Supply Agreement.
- Ensure suppliers perform MFA Manufacturing Feasibility Analysis and Risk Assessments for new projects and engineering changes.
- Understand the supplier's current capabilities and potential new capabilities and communicate to sourcing, engineering, and quality personnel.
- Leads others to solve problems using analytical thought, exercising judgment and identifying innovative solutions.
May lead functional teams or projects.
- Communicates and negotiates with others to effectively influence as appropriate.
What TOOLS you'll bring with you:
- BS in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or 5 years hands-on experience.
- Knowledge and experience in manufacturing process (all commodities: plastics, metals, electronics, packaging/têxtiles).
