Supplier Financial Risk Management Analyst

As supply chain complexity continues to evolve, so do the corresponding threats. As a result, managing the risk associated with a complex, global, and interconnected supply base becomes increasingly important to maximize supply chain resilience and flexibility.
Our Supplier Financial Risk team is responsible for proactively identifying, assessing, and advising on mitigation of financial distress within Aptiv's supply chain. We work with each Aptiv business unit as well as with Legal, Treasury, and other teams to prepare and execute on mitigation strategies.
Role and Responsibilities:
In this role, you will:
- Conduct detailed analysis of financial statements and other supplier-relevant data from internal and third party sources to determine financial health, including risk of financial distress, for new and existing suppliers
- Drive the ongoing process of monitoring troubled suppliers and support of mitigation planning
- Prepare reports, briefings and presentations to drive the necessary mitigation actions to protect Aptiv's and our customers' interests, including coordinating with stakeholders in other functions and locations
- Based on thorough financial analysis of suppliers, provide recommendations on sourcing award as well as expertise and actionable insights in the identification of supplier financial risks
- Actively participate in and lead process improvement initiatives in managing supply chain risk as necessary, including non-financial risk
- Serve as an advocate for the Supplier Financial Risk team by guiding and instructing Supply Chain Management stakeholders on supplier financial risk related process and procedures
- Clearly communicate risk issues to the broader organization to facilitate action
Required Skills, Aptitudes, Experience and Qualifications (must have)
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related business field
- 3+ years' experience analyzing financial statements, ideally in a manufacturing or credit risk context
- Experience working with 3rd party financial intelligence providers
- Excellent presentation, oral and written communication skills in English
- Strong analytical skills - ability to develop creative solutions for supplier weaknesses
- Computer-literate (MS Office and MS Teams suites)
- Ability to work with a strong sense of urgency and drive actions independently
- Strong desire to challenge status quo and bring improvements to existing processes
Desired characteristics (ideal, but not a must)
- Financial or 3rd party risk management experience, ideally with restructuring or financial distress
- Proficient or Fluent in languages other than English
- Supply chain management knowledge or exposure
- CPA, CFA, or equivalent certification
- Analytical skills and use of SW Tools such as Excel/Tableau/Alteryx etc.
