.The Supplier Management Engineer is responsibr the planning and execution of engineering projects primaricused on supply chain risk reduction as related to supplier capacity, continuity, on-time delivery, and of components or material. In this capacity the Engineer will serve as the liaison betwenctional departments of Mammotome, managing technical relationships with suppliers, and troubleshooting component supply chain issues as they relate to medical devices manufactured at the TJ plant.PROGRAM ASSIGNMENT RESPONSIBILITIESAs a member of the Direct Material Procurement Team a Supplier Management Engineer is responsibr troubleshooting manufacturing and supply issues at suppliers including tcilitation of root cause assessment and remediation of those issues. The Engineer will be responsibr the execution of projects both simple and complex relating the manufacture, packaging, or compliance of parts and material used in production at our Tijuana, manufacturing plant. Generally, these projects are most often related to supplier capacity, continuity, on-time delivery, and of components. The Engineer shall understand manufacturing methods, assembly practices, root cause assessment, and standards of medical devices or similarly regulated products. Other duties may be assigned to achieve company objectives.Supply Base ManagementWorks with the Procurement Team to build relationships with suppliersActs as the technical resourr the Procurement Team when in discussions with suppliers.Understands a variety of manufacturing processes and techniques and can take the lead on technical questions acilitate technical discussions with suppliers.Supports Operations in the selection, assessment, and qualification of new suppliersSupplier Issue ResolutionIs a key technical resource in resolving supplier issues as they relate to supplier capacity, continuity, on-time delivery, and of components.When issues occur, works within a cross-functional team in a technical role to resolve said issues as quickly as possibleWorks to help identify root cause of supplier issues as related to the suppliers manufacturing techniques and or of sub-tier supplier components or processes.Once root cause is identified, works to identify and plan short- and long-term countermeasures to address supplier issuesOnce countermeasures are identified, takesthe lead in planning and executing engineering projects to implement said countermeasures.
