SUMMARY: Ensure products received from suppliers meet Polaris standards and manufacturing specifications as defined. Proactively review supplier non-conformances and establish appropriate corrective actions. Ensure 100% ongoing qualification compliance of purchased components throughout the product life cycle. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Utilize quality engineering principles to assure the quality of supplied components.Utilize experience and quality engineering principles to develop strategy and tools for Polaris' supplier quality system as well as drive supply chain management continuous improvement.Lead cross functional teams to execute root cause problem solving of quality events at production and service level and implement corrective/preventative actions.Actively collaborate with Suppliers, Sourcing, Engineering, and Plant Quality to lower the number of supplier non-conformances (RMO) and reduce overall supplier DPM (Defects Per Million).Identify high risk suppliers and develop/drive execution of a quality performance improvement plan.Promote the use of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and continuous improvement techniques at Polaris suppliers to reduce variability and monitor process controls.Review supplier process change requests (PCR) and collaborate with cross functional teams to understand the risk as well as determine requirements for validation.Assist Suppliers to maintain 100% PPAP compliance after handoff from NPI Supplier Quality Team.Train suppliers on Polaris Quality tools and root cause/corrective action tools.Provide support and feedback to the Global Business Unit when determining existing supplier suitability for future business awards.Proactively develop improvement activity to meet the department goals for DPM and corrective action effectiveness.Monitor supplier caused warranty and drive appropriate corrective action to meet Global Business Unit targets. Assist sourcing with recovery of warranty costs when applicable.Determine pre-delivery inspection and/or incoming inspection of products to eliminate final assembly build impact.Conduct Supplier Quality Manufacturing System Audits as required. SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS: BS Degree in Engineering or Technical field.Minimum 3 years of experience in quality engineering or manufacturing engineering with preferred knowledge of plastics, casting and machining or harnesses.Strong technical problem solving skills, including the ability to write technical reports
