The Supplier Quality Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of products or services by assessing and managing the quality performance of suppliers. This position involves collaborating with suppliers, conducting audits, and implementing corrective actions to drive continuous improvement in supplier quality. The Supplier Quality Engineer works closely with cross-functional teams to establish and maintain robust supplier quality management processes.
**Your responsibilities**:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure alignment with quality standards. Conduct regular assessments and audits of suppliers to evaluate their quality management systems and adherence to specifications.
- Establish and communicate quality standards, specifications, and expectations to suppliers. Collaborate with suppliers to resolve quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions. Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the supplier base to enhance product quality and reliability.
- Work closely with suppliers to implement process improvements and efficiency gains. Perform and execute QWins Supplier Integrations.
- Develop and implement supplier quality assurance processes and procedures. Monitor and evaluate supplier performance against established key performance indicators (KPIs). Conduct thorough root cause analyses for supplier-related quality issues. Collaborate with suppliers to identify corrective actions and prevent recurrence of quality issues.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including procurement, engineering, and manufacturing, to integrate supplier quality considerations into the overall product development and manufacturing processes.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of supplier quality assessments, audits, and corrective actions. Prepare regular reports on supplier quality performance for management review.
- Stay informed about industry regulations and quality standards relevant to the products or services being supplied. Ensure that suppliers comply with relevant quality and regulatory requirements.
**Your background**:
- Bachelor's degree within a Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering with 2 years of manufacturing experience preferred.
- Experience in injection molding is preferred.
- Strong understanding of quality management systems and Lean Six Sigma methodologies
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Fluency in Spanish and English is required.
- Ability to monitor and report supplier performance (KPIs), quality issues and development actions.
