The Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer applies fundamental quality standards and procedures for processing materials into partially finished or finished products at subcontractors. Develops plans and manages Green Belt Level quality process improvement activities. Applies fundamental statistical tools and techniques in quality control and reliability activities. Supports workers engaged in receiving, measuring, assembling, and testing product and tabulates data concerning materials, product or process quality and reliability. Documents data obtained during all quality assurance activities consistent with company policies and procedures. Maintains, presents, and acts upon subcontractor quality metrics. Responsibilities: Act as a technical liaison with the contract manufacturers for product quality, including participating in weekly communications, on-site audits, review and management of supplier metrics, quality issue resolution, and other items related to product quality. Understand and clearly define problems, collect fundamental data, establish facts, and recommend actions for resolution. Responsible for monitoring and reacting to fundamental quality data created from implemented manufacturing quality plans at the subcontractors. Utilize quality tools and techniques such as PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, DMAIC, Six Sigma, Pareto analysis, Ishikawa diagrams, Cpk, SPC, and 8D for continuously improving the supplier's manufacturing processes. Conduct Supplier Audits / Vendor Assessments and manage findings to closure. Train/support suppliers in Landis+Gyr PPAP requirements. Review and approve supplier PPAP submissions supporting NPI, ECO, and supplier transfers. Lead cross-functional trend management efforts to address top supplier-caused issues and support ongoing continuous improvement efforts. Create and present necessary reports to manage supplier KPIs and other quality initiatives. Required Experience: Electronic/Mechanical/Mechatronic Engineer Degree. Six Sigma (Green Belt) tool background is required. 2+ to 5 years of experience. Capable of reading and understanding technical documents, requirements, and specifications. Strong understanding of statistics as related to manufacturing process control
