**What will you do?
**
Under general direction, provides technical expertise for overall Materials and Engineering departments working as a liaison between both departments and working with relevant IT Systems and modules to support business processes to help meet target customer service levels and optimize inventory levels for the manufacturing plant assuring that all NPI products and EC will be fully implemented preventing the creation of waste such as excess of inventory, lack of components and production down time.
Supports standardization processes with standardized best practices and tools.
Manages overall plant efforts to assure consistent, economical, and timely flow of both purchased and raw materials, WIP and FG to support the manufacturing efforts producing and shipping on time.
Supply chain engineering is the engineering discipline that concerns the planning, design, and operation of supply chains.
Some of its main areas include Materials and Engineering departments.
It involves various areas in mathematical and statistical modelling such as operations research, system learning, and optimization, which are usually implemented using software.
Supply chain engineering works and overlaps with other engineering disciplines such as industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, systems engineering, information engineering, and software engineering.
Although it has the same goals as supply chain management, supply chain engineering is focused on a mathematical statistical model based approach, to optimize the company resources, SCE MUST have full understanding of the ERP / MRP systems and have the experience doing the set ups and reflecting and matching the company goals, doing a ERP simulation SCE will be able to forecast inventory level by the end of the month and all year long forecast.
**How will you do it?
**
Determine critical materials and engineering process capabilities needed to support business objectives in the area of production and supplier scheduling and define processes required to enable those capabilities.
Responsible to drive standardization of those processes across multiple departments.
Objective is optimize inventory and meet customer service levels, balanced with efficient manufacturing operations.
While representing Materials and Engineering departments, partner with procurement, quality, manufacturing engineering, operations and other areas, who have touch points with production scheduling and supplier scheduling, to ensure an integrated solution for the overall organization of SCM.
Maintains effective working relationship and communication with plant personnel, and operations support organization.
Leads once a week meeting with the COE Manager and Plant Manager reporting advances on SCE performance supporting and preventing waste generation due to any department negligence for not following JCI company policies and procedures.
Indirect responsibility for plant manufacturing department leaders having each department owner following the job description and process and procedures during the implementation of NPI and EC's.
Developing of controls and tools for assuring the smooth implementation of NPI and EC's
Continuously monitoring of the NPI leaders and Materials people engagement, Mfg.
Engineers reporting advances of the project during the weekly meeting
SCE must have full understanding of the ERP in and out's and have high analytical skills for problem solving due to missing targets on the KPI's and have the ability to solve the issues / problems.
Complete on time any another task or project assigned by the direct supervisor related to the SCM and manufacturing needs.
**What we look for?
**
Bachelor's degree (preferably in supply chain management, industrial engineering, or operations management) with two (2) to four (4) years' experience in a manufacturing or manufacturing support (e.g., materials management, scheduling, continuous improvement, warehousing).
In the absence of a 4-year degree in an appropriate field of study, this position requires an additional eight (8) years of related experience.
APICS CPIM Certification preferred or expected to be obtained from individuals taking this role.
Understanding of manufacturing operations, ERP / MRP systems and the ability to effectively communicate and drive change in a manufacturing environment, across levels in the organization and extending to internal and external partners, is critical.
Ability to understand and clarify business needs and develop processes that achieve business objectives is a must.
Proficient knowledge of MRP and Advance Planning Systems and Engineering areas is preferred plus the understanding of the routings, bom, work centers creation and resources usage for manufacturing the products.
Experience helping design and document processes, including implementing supporting IT tools or any another system utilized on the manufacturing plant, is preferred.
