The position primarily supports the Richland, MS manufacturing location. The logistics specialist will support carrier interactions, estimation, planning, execution, reporting, analysis, and implementation of digitalization initiatives.How You'll Make an Impact:Build a culture of logistics awareness with a focus on cost/lead time optimization, tool implementation and adaptation, and impacts of decisions.Strategically support Grid Technology US business with logistics knowledge and concepts.Analyze procurement data and find opportunities to improve lead time, on-time delivery, visibility into shipments, and support production plans.Support the implementation and utilization of the SE LOG corporate tools and roll out of the digitalization roadmap within the GT - Richland functions.Work with internal customers to explore new logistics opportunities including modes, carriers, and equipment type.Support development and improvement of logistics and transportation processes and tools.Provide market research and cost forecasting to internal customers; observe domestic and international transportation market trends and assist in incorporating new service providers and/or technologies into the logistics portfolio.Identify the area of improvement to ensure continuous process improvement.What You Bring:3-5 years of progressive logistics and transportation experience in supporting a global organization or project forwarder/carrier.Bachelor's degree or validated experience in the field.Proven success and depth of experience in analyzing order forecasts, establishing logistics concepts and trade lanes, and execution of all modes of transportation.Demonstrated experience with domestic and international logistics regulations, security, and safety standards.Proven ability to prioritize tasks and handle time effectively.Demonstrated ability to work within teams.In-depth knowledge and familiarity with transportation and logistics-related documents to include preferential trade agreement documentation, letters of credit, manifests, rate cards, ocean bills of lading, and AWBs.Proven ability to communicate clearly and concisely information or data to non-technical associates, peers, and management.Proven knowledge in INCOTERMS and how they apply/impact logistics.Experience in SAP, Mercury Gate/Transport Management System, Tableau, and similar digital platforms.Experience transacting and communicating with general cargo logistics service providers
