We are a not-for-profit hotel and surf school with a sister home and a sister community project in Tapachula. Since opening Misión Surf, we've hosted community classes, surf workshops, yoga retreats and we even care for animals. Misión Surf is a place for people to enjoy whilst giving back to the wider community, and supporting our mission to give love, life, and hope.Role ContextMisión Surf needs experienced surfers who can bring exciting energy to our programs and classes. Our Surf and Community Officer will work closely with the team assisting in enhancing and expanding our surf and community programs, building good relationships with our local community, and helping to develop our youths surf and water skills. Must be Spanish/English speaking. The role starts with a one month salary followed by commission based salary.**Responsibilities**:**Mision Surf**:**When Required**:Assisting with promotion of Mision Surf surf classes and programs.Encouraging new ideas and ways to enhance classes and programs.**Community Classes**:**Expected**:**Tuesdays and Saturdays**: Assist our young surfers out on the waves - this includes pushing them on the waves, offering encouragement and support, and motivating our youngest surfers to get out on their boards.Assisting with the re-opening and managing of local community classesWorking with our team to encourage involvement from the community children. This may include walks around the community reminding children the classes are on, interacting with and getting permission from their parents.Encourage the older, more confident surfers of Villa del Sol to surf with you during the week.Deliver swimming lesson to beginners**When Possible**:Run surf and ocean awareness workshops, refreshing, and educating our youth on ocean safety; for example, how to spot riptides, basic first aid etc.Organise and plan thorough workshops and classes.Surf Program**Expected**:Delivering, or assisting with, surf lessons to paying guests and customers, in a professional manner
