**About the role**
**Key Responsibilities**:
As a Sustaining Engineer, you'll be responsible for:
- This role will support the continued development and production excellence of Carrier's industry-leading custom fan and air management hardware with specific focus on MX-based vendors.
- The role will directly work with the Syracuse, NY-based research and development team and will interface between the Carrier production facilities in MX and our vendors.
- Direct oversight of issue resolution for Carrier custom fan production in MX.
- Primary engineering point-of-contact for Carrier custom fan vendor issue resolution.
- Regular audit checking of Carrier custom fan inbound quality.
- Provide engineering support to Carrier custom fan vendors during injection mold tool development and commissioning.
- Identification and implementation of productivity improvement opportunities for Carrier custom fan production.
- Serve as primary vendor engineering interface to support ongoing fan technology development programs.
- 25% domestic travel to vendor sites primarily in MX.

As a minimum you must have:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ year's experience in quality control or plastic injection molding.
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 3+ year's experience in quality control or plastic injection molding.
- Experience with plastic injection molded part & tooling design.
- Experience working directly with production part vendors, preferred in plastic injection molding.
- Experience in solid model 3D CAD and 2D drawing creation & interpretation.
- Experience in injection molding process optimization.
- Experience using plastic injection moldflow analysis.
