Responsible for engineering IFE projects within the Systems Installation group from a mechanical standpoint, from systems integration to installation. Shall be responsible for engineering, designing, and developing system installation packages based on customers', regulatory, and OEM's requirements for production and retrofit applications. Has specific technical project or product responsibility.Key Responsibilities:Support Systems Installation Group.Coordinate program requirements with Program Management, Certification, Marketing, and other departments.Provide support for planning, customer meetings, preliminary design review (PDR), critical design review (CDR), First Article Inspection (FAI), aircraft surveys, and aircraft installations.Review products and provide feedback to Senior Engineers and Management.Coordinate design requirements and review applications for existing programs.Work with external engineering groups to integrate third-party vendor equipment with our systems.Provide technical direction to members of assigned work teams.Engineer, design, and develop system installation packages.Engineer projects from a mechanical integration design standpoint under the direction of a Senior Engineer.Engineer and coordinate mechanical designs for new aircraft production and retrofit applications.Utilize AutoCAD, CATIA, PRO-E, or equivalent design tools to perform design responsibilities for wiring diagrams, cable assemblies, seat configuration, and wiring/structural installation drawings.Provide inputs to Drafters for systems design criteria to support aircraft installations.Assist in the guidance and direction for problem solving to Drafters.Support development of drawing/document standards per customer and regulatory agency requirements.Design and develop in-flight entertainment mechanical engineering documentation to support airline customer's requirements.Minimum Requirements:BSME or other relevant Engineering degree.5-10 years of mechanical experience in the aircraft industry.Strong background and understanding of airline regulatory guidelines and design requirements for aircraft wiring.Solid understanding of avionic parts utilized in designing and manufacturing cable assemblies and sheet metal brackets (i.E., connectors, contacts, wire types, sheet metal materials, finish, etc.).Proficient in using AutoCAD, CATIA, PRO-E, or other design software.Advanced English proficiency (90%) with the ability to effectively communicate in English, both written and verbally.Visa Mandatory: This position requires up to 25% domestic or international travel to support coordination meetings and program reviews at manufacturers.#J-18808-Ljbffr
