The SLP Tax Leader has the primary responsibility of ensuring full compliance with the formal duties and obligations set forth in the country's tax legislation.Coordinate with the SLP Plant Controller, FBP, and PLT to complete monthly reports and provide business support. Lead the Accounting Maquila Specialist and the Maquila Scrap Coordinator. Partner with area leaders to ensure correct plant compliance, achieve goals and objectives, and, where appropriate, develop people resources and support plant operations.Supervise monthly estimates, maquila income, PTU provision, and mark-up with P&L and FCF indicators. Ensure compliance with regional and Americas information.Principle Duties And ResponsibilitiesLead the Accounting and Maquila Specialist and the Maquila Scrap Coordinator. Work with the Unit Leaders and Team Leaders to develop strategic initiatives and scrap risk avoidance initiatives. Provide insight and education to Engineering leaders on business-related decisions to fulfill legal compliance. Work with floor areas to ensure the importance of maintaining correct control of the fixed assets.Ensure SLP processes are in compliance with the country's tax legislation, maximizing tax benefits from operations and minimizing risk and tax contingencies.Lead the Accounting and Maquila Specialist and the Maquila Scrap Coordinator in ensuring that identified control and internal audit gaps are remediated on a timely basis and in accordance with SOX (The Sarbanes-Oxley Act) and Income Tax Legislation. Assist the Import-Export Leader to ensure correct foreign trade compliance.Support continuous improvement initiatives related to tax processes and systems by being a content expert on VAT, Income Tax, and SAP systems.Work with Finance Leadership to identify actionable tax opportunities and evaluate new operations to determine the fiscal impacts and opportunities.EducationBachelor´s Degree: Accountant, Finances or any related. Desired MBA or other advanced degree.ExperienceMinimum 4-8 years of progressively more responsible experience in tax, accounting and analysis.Supervising teams and cross-functional operations.Supporting large operations, businesses, or support functions.Interacting with operational and financial senior management.Knowledge & SkillsStrong knowledge, understanding, and practical skills in relevant systems (i.E. ERP system (SAP preferred), MS Office products, Hyperion or similar application).Partnering skills, including the ability to draw on the ideas of key team members and convert them into meaningful strategies and plans.Creates team atmosphere while achieving key objectives.Shares personal knowledge and experience
