.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Provides strong leadership to a 2-person team and is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of work submitted by the team.Manage quarterly and annual accounting for income tax calculations, including the following tasks:Projected effective tax rate management and forecasting and reporting processes for expected cash taxes paid and deferred tax balances.Coordination with various members of the tax team for all inputs into the core accounting for income tax calculations.Planning and management of the closing process and related calculations, posting of resulting journal entries, and reporting of results into the global income tax reporting process.Coordination and planning with accounting & reporting and global tax functions to ensure that income taxes are properly reported in the general ledger.Income tax account roll forwards and reconciliations of current and deferred income taxes.Accounting for income taxes for Mexico GAAP statutory financial statements for all applicable entities. Work in conjunction with external auditors to support the figures reported in the audited financial statements, as well as overseeing the information presented in the tax footnotes.Manage the income tax compliance processes including:Review the preparation of annual income tax & informative returns.Monthly estimated payments.Ensuring that all the Mexican legal entities are in compliance with tax obligations and filing requirements.Manage the VAT compliance process including:Monthly reporting, payments and requests for tax refunds generated for VAT.Reconciliation and management of related general ledger account balances.Review and coordinate the gathering of information for the preparation of transfer pricing studies by external consultants and management of Advance Pricing Agreements.Other responsibilities include:Oversight of the computation of profit sharing that will be distributed to the employees.Manage notices and information requests from the tax authorities related to income tax and VAT.Coordinate process improvement efforts across the different tasks managed, including documentation and mapping of processes.Support the Head of Tax, NA in coordinating with the business to provide advice on a variety of tax issues and tax related questions and projects.Coordinate and manage the use of external service providers and with other members of the North America Tax team, working in a process oriented and teamwork environment.POSITION REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor's degree, preferably in accounting or finance.Minimum 10 years of public accounting and or experience in Mexican Federal Income Tax and VAT.Experience with accounting for income taxes preferred.Required to have experience with the maquiladora industry.Required to have experience in a management role.Experience with data management and process improvements for tax purposes is a plus.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:Strong in personal accountability
