Individuals at this level have a minimum of two years' experience as a staff accountant and normally have passed the CPA or Chartered Accountant exam. Senior Accountants in Tax are expected to: Know and understand the reason behind the firm's policies and proceduresPossess technical knowledge sufficient to supervise ("coach") staff accountantsBegin acquiring the skills necessary to develop quality core engagement teams (client) relationships and loyaltyExhibit (or develop) skills and characteristics delineated in the Firm's evaluation formsBegin developing a command of pertinent IRC sections and regulationsBecome proficient at tax research including knowledge of the reference sources available to the firmAssume responsibility for the supervision of tax return preparation engagementsBegin developing proficiency in tax planningEssential Functions:Prepare individual, corporate and partnership tax returns of varying complexitiesPrepare quarterly and year-end estimates to assist clients with tax planningDemonstrate competency in technical skills, work quality and application of professional and firm standardsKnow, understand and abide by the firm's policies and proceduresMeet time constraints and client deadlinesPrepare other reports, projects and duties as may be assignedPossess technical knowledge sufficient to assist staff associatesBegin acquiring the skills necessary to develop quality core engagement teams (client) relationship and loyaltyParticipate in firm training courses to further develop technical skillsProvide excellent client service by producing quality work, quick turnaround and attentive serviceBecome proficient at tax research including a knowledge of the reference sources available to the firmQualifications:Master's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting with the 150 hours and must have completed all requirements to be able to sit for the CPA or Chartered Accountant exam.
