The requirements engineer is part of the systems engineering core team on a project, responsible for the management and coordination of all requirements.
The engineer is the primary interface to the project stakeholders and internal feature owners, responsible for driving the derivation, decomposition, dissemination and review of requirements from a customer to a component level.
**Responsibilities**:
- Ensure accuracy of, and configuration manage all stakeholder requirements
- Manage the requirements structure in the requirements management tool.
- Define the reuse concept for the platform requirements.
- Manage the customer compliance matrix.
- Work with the development leads to define release based content schedule.
- Communicate and disseminate requirements to function and feature owners
- Track requirements progress metrics to ensure progress to the project timeline
- Ensure traceability and consistency of requirements
- Ensure the requirements management process is followed
- Define requirements review criteria and ensure requirements review process is followed
- Work closely with system, software architects, functional safety and test engineers to ensure downstream user feedback.
- Freeze and release the requirement baselines for each system release.
- Ensure quality consistency of requirements across projects.
Basic Qualifications
- Engineering Bachelor's Degree.
- 5+ years of experience working with requirements development in an automotive, aviation or similar industry
- Good knowledge of systems engineering principles and guidelines (eg INCOSE).
- Experience using a requirements management tool eg.
Polarion, Doors etc.
- Experience of working within an ASPICE based process environment (or similar)
- Knowledge of requirements engineering principles.
Preferred Experience
- Experience delivering a project with functional safety (ISO26262) requirements.
- Propulsion or electric motor system experience.
- Knowledge of Cyber security (ISO 21434)
- Experience a task management tool eg.
Atlassian JIRA, IBM Rational RTC etc.
