BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for "dynamic, results driven" individual to join as Senior embedded SW Engineer to lead the Software development in Basic Software in San Luis Potosi.
The Senior Embedded SW Engineer and the team will focus on developing software components for our electrical powertrain division and will be on the forefront of engineering the latest technology electrical vehicle propulsion systems.
Job Duties:
- Lead the technical aspects of the Automotive embedded Software development in the assigned projects.
- Guide/mentor the Software team members on understanding the requirements clearly and coming up with efficient Software Architecture and detailed design.
- Analyze, plan and estimate SW Development Activities and Tasks.
- Elicit, Analyze, Decompose, Develop, and Manage Software Requirements.
- Identify and Define SW components/units, and document SW Detailed Design.
- Develop Software according to the Detailed Design, using appropriate programming languages, methods, and techniques. This includes Model based design, auto-code generation, and embedded C programming.
- Configure, develop and test AUTOSAR Basic Software stacks and IO Hardware Abstraction.
- Plan, Develop, and Execute Unit and Integration tests according to the project test plan/strategy for the assigned SW Units.
- Drive the required eHardware interfaces, design and development.
- Debug and identify root cause issues in the related area of work.
- Establish bi-directional traceability between SW work products.
- Perform consistency checks, and peer reviews of SW work products.
- Analyze and enhance the efficiency, stability and scalability of the software.
- Drive and support open communication within the team.
- Adhere to company's processes and procedures to meet SW Quality Assurance requirements. Propose improvements.
- Work with other BorgWarner engineers and departments to ensure program goals are met, schedules maintained, and problems encountered in the development process are resolved.
- Document and share best-practices.
- Interface with the customers as appropriate.
**Requirements**:
- Bachelor or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software engineering, Computer engineering (or foreign equivalent)
- 6-8 years of overall experience preferably in automotive embedded software development.
- Strong experience with automotive embedded Software development based on AUTOSAR architecture-MCAL, BSW, configuration tools from Vector/Mentor/EB Tresos etc. and methodology.
- Strong experience in Low-level drivers software Development (HWIO/CDD), Validation, Debugging & Troubleshooting.
- Experience working with Automotive Electric Motor drives or Powertrain systems is preferred.
- Strong experience in process-oriented SW engineering per ASPICE or ISO26262.
- Experience with C programming language, Model-Based Development tools like MATLAB, Simulink and Stateflow.
- Functional safety background would be a big plus (Steering, Brakes, Powertrain.)
- Familiarity with automotive electrical systems (i.e. brush/brushless DC motors, solenoids, relays, electromagnetic coils, switches), reading the ECU schematics and Hardware-Software Interfaces.
- Experience using industry standard development tools - e.g. tool-chains, IDEs, configuration management etc. such as Polarion, JIRA, BitBucket, etc
- Experience bringing integrated software/hardware products from the early development phase to production
