This role helps youth deepen their conversion to Jesus Christ and His restored gospel, prepares righteous educated servants of the Lord who build the Kingdom of God, and assists them to reach their divine purpose that enables them to live successful, self-reliant lives.

This position works under the direction of church school program administrator or direct line leader. The person in this role should have a strong background in teaching, learning, and working with youth.

The person in this role teaches academic subjects and church principles and doctrine to help students learn to become a future leader in their family, church, and community, English proficient, meaningfully qualified, and lifelong is an intermediate level position.


- Work in partnership with the school leadership, faculty, parents, students, and the community.
- Follow and implement school policies and procedures.
- Teach in the Savior's way by focusing on Jesus Christ, loving those you teach, teaching by the Spirit, teaching the doctrine, and inviting diligent learning.
- Provide students theoretical and practical instruction on assigned subject matter.
- Establish and maintain classroom expectations so students can learn in a safe environment.
- Study and implement curriculum and use good judgment on how to utilize it to teach students effectively.
- Assess student learning and grade their knowledge and skills according to defined criteria.
- Use computer software to track student information and performance, attendance, and grades.
- Contribute to school plans that facilitate learning, including budgets, inventories, facilities, curriculum, etc.
- Build a strong relationship with your line leader and receive guidance and ongoing training.
- Create unity and communicate with students and parents regularly.

- Develop a knowledge and understanding of the principles and practices of Teaching in the Savior's Way and the Leadership Pattern.
- Required to participate in regular training opportunities to improve your job performance and career development.
- Constantly work with your line leader on development and performance, maintain a professional development plan, work toward accomplishing goals, and render an account.
- Seek for, receive, and act on feedback through self-evaluations, and observations from student and leaders.
- May be asked to participate in or lead programs or activities, including after-hours.
- Align with Seminaries and Institutes (S) Leadership and local leaders.

Required :

- Bachelor's degree or teaching certificate / license or equivalent.
- Two years of teaching experience.

- Capable knowledge and understanding and skills related to the principles and practices of teaching and learning.
- Proficient ability to use a wide variety of skills and techniques to manage a classroom.
- Proficient interpersonal communication skills including verbal communication, active listening, body language, openness, and decision making.
- Works well with youth and can display genuine empathy towards individuals with a commitment to understanding their challenges.
- Proficient ability to build constructive working relationships characterized by an advanced level of integrity, acceptance, cooperation, and mutual respect.
- Displays an ongoing commitment to learning and self-improvement; a willingness to receive feedback and strives to acquire new knowledge and skills.
- Competent ability to communicate in English (Spanish where applicable) clearly and concisely,
both orally and in written form.
- Aligns with the direction and policies of the Church Board of Education and Seminaries and Institutes (S) Leadership.
- Proficient ability in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Able to use standard office equipment.
- The Church school teacher is expected to meet the Seminaries and Institutes (S) conditions of employment.
- To successfully perform the essential functions of the job this position frequently communicates with students who have inquiries on various topics.

Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the classroom.

Preferred :

Possess a general understanding of how to support students with disabilities,
which may include physical, learning, behavioral,emotional, and / or mental health challenges.
