Team Lead - Engineering

FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION: Ability to manage all department efforts.
This includes assigning projects, supporting other engineers on complex projects, conducting training as needed, and working with cross functional teams to develop new processes and procedures.Plan and direct activities concerned with design, prototyping, and testing This will include scheduling and leading meetings with internal and/or external teams (manufacturing, sales, quality etc.)
to insure engineering design concepts are manufacturable and acceptable to all parties.Collaborate with engineers from suppliers, customers and within Sonoco to generate acceptable design solutions and/or Design for manufacturing improvements.Position summary:- Support engineering activity related to design, development, and manufacturing of both custom designed solutions and customer provided requests.- Supervise and manage the performance of salary employees and engineering department activities.- Domestic travel is required to visit customers, and some international travel may be required.- Represent Sonoco values, cultures, and commitments to suppliers and customers.- Employees are expected to conduct themselves in an acceptable professional manner.
