.Technical Services Director- ConstructionAs Director of Technical Services, you have the overall responsibility for coordinating and directing the flow of information between R&D/QA and sales (CSSS, RSM and external customers) for all Traffic Solutions products primarily related to application and field performance properties. You will lead the technical service managers, field service technicians, and the Oregon warranty technicians. You will be based in the Greensboro, NC office and report to the Sales Director of Traffic Solutions-U.S & Canada.Key ResponsibilitiesHelp solve product performance issues with the customer directly or through the deployment of other technical service personnel.Coordinate, and participate in the work done on test decks or test projects for product qualification / approval.Oversee in the collection of performance data for TS pavement marking products in the field for use in product qualification, sales, and marketing support, and to provide an overall understanding of the product performance capabilities.Serve on multiple ASTM, NTPEP, AASHTO, ATSSA, and TRB committees and task groups to promote standardization of test methods, product specification, recommended practices, and guides for using pavement marking materials.Provide technical support for governmental agencies drafting new specifications or revising existing specification that relate to pavement marking products and their application.Provide product development feedback to R&D regarding product application and field performance with the objective of maximizing customer satisfaction, minimizing costs, and ensuring high level of product performance for the end user.Provide technical support for new product introduction including test installation, gathering of field data, writing product data sheets, specifications, and application guidelines.Provide support to the manufacturing plants to identify and correct any issues (material, process, procedure, etc.) that negatively affect product performance.Provide input to Sales and Marketing regarding potential market opportunities for new products or new application of existing productsManage departmental issues and various special projects as assigned by management.Hire, mentor, and evaluate tech service staff – assign coverage.Responsible for budget and proper management over $1 million dollars.Oversee the maintenance of an fleet of equipment used for applying the full range of TS products.QualificationsBS/BA in a technical major, chemistry, or polymer/paint major preferred.10+ years of construction or industrial technical services experience (formulating traffic marking products and their subsequent installation strongly preferred).Demonstrated leadership ability including training and motivating skills
