As the Technical Support Analyst you will ensure infrastructure across the site or collection of sites is performing to standard.
Your goal / purpose will be to provide local on-site support for availability management and global/regional project implementation activity ensuring local infrastructure delivers to business expectations (SLA) whilst remaining fully aligned to global JMIT Policies.
Your success will contribute to maintaining the IT infrastructure to a high professional standard thereby maximizing the productivity of employees whilst supporting the business plans.
The IT Infrastructure and Operations team at Johnson Matthey provides a range of IT services to support existing and future business processes and activities to various business stakeholders and end-users in JM.
With teams in several different countries, our organization leads the infrastructure delivery, operational planning, deployment and management of IT Services in JM and to selected JM customers.
Our target is to create a scalable service infrastructure with world-class availability, quality, reliability and efficiency.
Your responsibilities:
- Configure, deploy, maintain, troubleshoot and support local infrastructure, including computer workstations, laptops, printers, mobile devices, phones, meeting room equipment, local area networking (inc wifi) and other computer and telecommunications equipment.
- Carry out basic systems operations duties requiring local hands and eyes support, including back-up tape management, supervised server restarts, LAN patching, and cabinet management.
- Contribute to project teams in the improvement of current BIS services and development and delivery of new BIS services.
- Maintain the IT infrastructure to a high professional standard thereby maximizing the productivity of employees whilst supporting the business plans.
- Share acquired knowledge with colleagues through formal documentation and communications sessions.
Requirements for the role:
- Experience of working with Windows 7, Windows 10, MS Exchange, Office 365, Mobile Technology, Printer Technology, DNS, DHCP, Switches and routers
- Experience of technical implementations with good understanding of Microsoft and networking technologies.
- Holder of a recognised IT qualification or has significant IT experience.
- Fluent (both verbal and written) in the language(s) where the role is based
