JOB SUMMARY:
The responsibilities of the Advanced Manufacturing Technician are to assist the laboratory staff with the process of building and manufacturing production lines and the npi process.
This position will assist with a variety of tasks within a laboratory setting that may include filling containers with product, feeding a production machine, labeling product, recording data, operating equipment and formulation.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform in-process sampling and testing to assure batches meet specification
- Document results, process and refer to past batch records
- Calibrate and operate semi-automated manufacturing equipment
- Understand appropriate lab protocols and follow standard operating procedures including regulatory awareness of chemical handling and hazards, compliance, and proper use of equipment
- Consistently meet product cycle times and quality expectations
- Participate in continuous process improvement efforts, identify and flag areas for improvement
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Collaborate with relevant teams to determine optimal locations to install hardware - Install line-side equipment, including cameras and computer hardware
- Bolting brackets, and basic hand tool usage
- Provide support to engineers providing direct feedback on how the systems are functioning on the line
- Monitor alerts and determine with available data if something is failing, and how to quickly fix it
- Collaborate with quality engineers to communicate time periods of failure of the system
EDUCATION:
Degree in Electromechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering or similar.
EXPERIENCE:
1 year of experience in an automotive company.
KNOWLEDGE:
- Intermediate English (Reading, Writing and Speaking).
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work in an extremely fast-paced environment
FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES
- Problem solving skills.
- Mastery of lean manufacturing tools.
- Solid computer skills including specific experience with file systems and basic understanding of computer networks
- Basic understanding of electrical safety
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
- Knowledge of drawing interpretation, GD&T as well as basic/intermediate use of design software
- Programming of new machinery
- Ability to write technical reports for the plant
