The Opportunity
Perform complex electrical, dimensional and physical calibrations on all ABBOTT measurement and process control equipment. Perform calibration of calibration standards. Schedule, pick up and deliver equipment to internal users and document actions on an equipment control data base. Develop and write calibration procedures using spreadsheet, flow chart and word processing software. Perform troubleshooting on all equipment types to the board level. Review documentation, checklists and manuals for accuracy and completeness. Perform calibration assessments for NPIs.
Responsabilities
Equipment calibrations
- Perform multi-discipline calibrations including calibration standards.
- Review documentation, checklists and manuals for accuracy and completeness.
- Read equipment manuals and independently learn equipment operation.
- Plan training or calibration trips to off-site facilities.
- Availability to travel by air to remote manufacturing sites to provide support or for NPIs
- Research equipment specifications.
- Select standards for use in calibration procedures based on tolerance accuracy ratios, specifications and measurement uncertainty.
- Complete assigned projects.
- Attend training sessions and perform deploy the knowledge to calibration personnel after training.
Documentation
- Identify safety issues related to calibration procedures.
- Write calibration procedures using word processing, spreadsheet and graphics software.
- Submit change orders.
Repair
- Research repair situations and determine action steps.
- Perform troubleshooting.
- Use and order tools and specify and order parts with attention to safety precautions.
- Perform normal repairs and maintenance.
Administrative
- Review calibration procedures.
- Perform root cause and interval analyses on Out-of-Tolerance equipment and assigned corrective actions as needed.
- Use calibration data base systems including: history tracking, recall and overdue reports.
Technical Assistance
- Review calibration procedures and equipment specifications.
- Provide formal training to equipment users and other metrology technicians.
- Research and answer user technical measurement questions.
- Perform data analysis and report on equipment measurement studies.
- Perform On the job training for new hires.
- Provide process assistance and integration.
- Solve complex calibration/measurement problems.
- Perform technical orientation training for new hires.
**Qualifications**:
- Education: High school/Technical degree inMechanics, Chemistry, electronics, electromechanical or other related technical fields, or equivalent combination of training.
- 3 years experience in Calibration roles.
