Responsible to design, develop, validate, integrate, and release components assigned to his/her responsibility, such as HVAC modules, Compressor, Condenser, Battery Chiller, Refrigerant Distribution Systems, Radiator, coolant hoses or other thermal system components.
- Bachelor's engineering degree in the following engineering disciplines (preferred): Mechanics, Thermal, Mechatronics, Materials or equivalent.
- 2+ Years working in Thermal Systems (Air Conditioning, powertrain cooling) or related areas.
- Knowledge of Design and Release, product development, design engineering processes and tools in Air Conditioning, Powertrain Cooling or Under Hood systems.
- Vehicle Launch Experience
- Project Management knowledge in planning and executing projects, agile methodology and risk management
- Knowledge and use of 3D CAD tools and software (opening files, visualization, measurements, parts manipulation, etc.).
- Microsoft Office management (Word, Excel, Power Point and Project).
- Demonstrated experience successfully working with and leading cross-functional and supplier teams.
- Intermediate knowledge in manufacturing processes for HVAC modules, heat exchangers, compressors, and refrigerant distribution systems.
- Proficient written & verbal communication skills (Spanish and English).

- Design components using corporate PD process, tools and software, that comply with Corporate and Local Requirements for parts validation, considering ES (Engineering Specifications), ARL and SDS; as well as manufacturing, service and assembly requirements.
- Responsible of parts incorporation at the Assembly Plant.
- Implementing material cost reductions and maximizing capital re-use (tooling and testing) to achieve the best cost performance at/or before production release.
- Investigate and implement design improvements and manufacturing process efficiencies to improve part quality and weight, to deliver a product that customer's value.
- Develop and maintain robust supplier relationships that benefit the delivery of the product according to program needs.
- Lead, plan and implement system and subsystem timing plans to ensure timely delivery of milestone and engineering gateways requirements for components, subsystems, systems, or vehicle level.
- Comply or exceed with Program cost, weight, quality, performance, and timing targets.
- Comply with Robustness Engineering Disciplines (Quality History, P - Diagram, FMEA, etc.)
- Verify the vehicle attribute targets, through a consistent DV Plan based on Design Verification Methods (DVM) and linked to SDS/ARL (System Design Specifications/Attribute Requirement Lists).
- Develop awareness of cross-functional attributes that affect the vehicle thermal performance.
- Interpret results from CAE and physical tests for the development of feasible countermeasures to meet requirements.
- As needed, interact with the design teams D&R, CAD, Program Management, Design Studio, Vehicle Architecture Design, Suppliers and Vehicle Engineering to achieve the project scope, technical deliverables, timeline, validation plan, cost targets and documentation.
- Conduct component and system level test set-ups (ensure tests are correctly set-up and executed).
Plan CAE and component / system level tests according to the vehicle program timing.
- Develop ESOW (Engineering Statement of Work) and participate in the Sourcing Process (ED&T review, piece and tooling cost review and CPA)
- Follow the TDRM process (Technical Design Review Meeting)
- Audit/ update BOM (Bill of Material) with correct part levels and usage, for prototype builds and maintain it post Job1 as required.
- Be aware of Engineering changes and proceed accordingly
- Identify validation, durability and functional test required as per SDS, CETPs & ES.
