**Your tasks**:
- Maintain, audit, and oversee all current and new tooling.
- Visit suppliers on a routine basis to ensure compliance with Brose tooling standards and requirements.
- Document new technology and present to internal teams and supply base
- Work in conjunction with Commodity and Team Buyers, and the Supplier Quality Engineers to reduce ppms and ensure proper maintenance and construction of tooling.
- Document Lessons learned and present to internal teams
- Calculate tool cost targets and assist in reviewing quotes associated with tool building and modification.
- Technical support resource for newer Brose Tooling Engineers
- Protect Brose's assets during tool moves from one supplier to another.
- Initiate activities to create HIPPA privacy awareness within the organization and implement privacy policies and procedures.
**Your Profile**:
- Associate's Degree in Tooling & Manufacturing (or similar program) or a college-based Tool & Mold or Technician Diploma or Certificate
- (3-5) years of documented experience as Tool & Mold Maker or a documented and verified Completion of Apprenticeship Certificate as a Die Maker or Tool & Mold Maker
- Work from blueprints, drawings, layouts or other specifications to plan sequences of operations for fabricating dies or assemblies
- Experience with set up and operating conventional or computer numerically controlled machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, CNC Machines and grinders to cut, bore, grind or otherwise shape parts to prescribed dimensions and finishes
- Experience with quality gauging concepts with a good understanding of GD&T
- Experience with PPAP and APQP process - Feasibility discussions
- Perform tryout with completed molds to ensure that parts meet specifications; make adjustments as necessary
- Experience with Plastics processing in a production or tryout capacity
- Able to effectively cost and develop a tool concept of a plastic component - Machine size and number of cavities
- Experience measuring, marking and scribing metal or plastic stock to lay out machining, using instruments such as protractors, micrometers, scribes and rulers
- Resin knowledge and molding properties
- Select materials to be used from a range of metals and alloys, based on properties such as hardness and heat tolerances
- Experience with Microsoft office, word, excel.
